The Birdies are here

Well on my birthday I noticed that the robin in our back yard was looking into the nest. So the next time she wasn't sitting right out there I popped my head out the door and looked in. All three of the baby robins were in there wiggling around.

A few days later I stuck my head out again and found that they had grown a ton:

This morning I stepped out and took a peak and saw that their wings were starting to get feathers:

So far all of the robin's seem to be doing well!

The Goose Egg

Sunday night Sammy was walking quickly through the house.. He bent down quickly to pick up a toy, however, the rest of him did not stop quite as quick as he liked. He fell forehead first into the corner of two walls. Look above his right eye:

He however calmed down pretty quickly after it happened. He started laughing and hamming it up for the camera.. I am sure this is just the first of these to come with raising a rough and tumble little boy:-P

My Birthday Celebrations

First I want to thank everyone for an amazing birthday! Friday night Tim took me out to dinner to Downtown 56.

(Downtown 56)

I had the most delicious crab cakes I have ever eaten in my entire life. Tim had a great filet migon and for dessert we had the chocolate fondue. I think I want to get a fondue pot now. We had a really great time at dinner.

We then did some shopping before heading to the quarry to do some camping. Luckily the weather was not as bad as was called for. We had fun enjoying the quarry and the peace and quite.

(The tent after the night)

(The beautiful quarry)

Saturday morning we packed up and relieved our wonderful babysitter. We then enjoyed some good weather.. Tim mowed the lawn, and Sammy and I played on the swing set and the yard.

(where the tent was located during the rain)

We then packed up and headed to Charolettesville to have lunch with my parents, Clare, Chris, and Bradley. We ate some lunch at one of my all time favorite restaurants, Red Robin. My family blessed me with some great gifts!

Sunday we went to church and then went and hung out with Tim's family for the afternoon. All in all a great weekend!

(Tim ran to the car to get some marshmallows.. sporting my pink crocs!!)

First pair of fitted Shoes

A few weeks ago we took Sammy to get his first pair of fitted shoes. We got them a little bigger than he needed because his feet were smaller than any of the shoes they had in the store. The first day we had them he wasnt a big fan of them.
However now he has gotten the hang of walking with them on.

He is now walking around about 95% of the time at home. When he is away from the house he is not as confident about the walking however he still is usually walking/cruising around then also.

You can check out some other photos here.

Meet Our New Family Member!!!

Okay, now that I have your attention, I will tell you that someone in our household has been doing some serious nesting! She has been busy getting things ready and has a "glow" about her!

Well, since there is only one female in our house, this might have you guys thinking that we are expecting number two! Look below for a picture that explains everything:

Keep scrolling :-)

Keep scrolling :-)

LOL, there she is in the flower box on our deck! There are 3 little robin eggs in her nest. She is a fearless little bird. She stays in her nest when Tipsy goes in and out of the house. She even stays in her nest when Tim or I look out the door.

If I can get a picture of the little birdies once they are hatched I will put them up for you guys to check them out!

Putting Things Into other Things

Sammy has been practicing putting things into other things. He takes his toys and puts them in his toy basket, he puts toys into the tv stand, he puts food into the dogs mouth.. okay you get the point.

The other day I was admiring the flowers on my fireplace (thanks Tim) when something caught my eye.

There was one of Sammy's shape sorting pieces in the fireplace. I looked closer to find there was 2 gears, a shape, a hair tie, a piece of trash, and a baby sock. Apparently Sammy has been busy putting things into the fire place. I guess we will work on that before next winter ;-)

My Sister is Blogging!!

I have been tinkering with some blog designs lately and my sister asked me to get one setup for her. You can check her out at Diapers to Designs. If you like her design and and want to give yours a little face lift let me know. :-)

Hot Showers

I enjoy a nice hot shower... however, lately I noticed that my showers were getting shorter and shorter. One day I was in the midst of the lather, rinse repeat process when FREEZING COLD WATER came pouring out of the shower head! I hurried to finish washing my mop of a head and wondered if I would ever be warm again.

I got out of the shower and thought.. well I am running the dishwasher and washing machine at the same time I am sure that is the problem. However, the next day I was in the same boat again.. wondering why I hadn't mentioned anything to Tim last time.

When I finally defrosted with a nice big cup of hot coffee I told Tim about our little issue. Tim crawled under the house into the crawl space (why our hot water heater is outside in the cold is beyond me). He tested the hot water heater and found two issues, so off to Home Depot we trekked for parts.

Tim drained the lukewarm water out of the hot water heater and pulled out the heating elements:
No that Tim the Tool Man fixed the hot water heater I am back to enjoying the scalding water in the morning!

Plum Lovin'

Author: Janet Evanovich
ISBN: 99780312985363
Pages: 164

One word summary: Humorous

Description from Amazon:
In this tart and hilarious "between-the-numbers" Stephanie Plum novel from bestseller Evanovich (Twelve Sharp), the Jersey bond enforcement agent, who already has two guys in her life (cop Joe Morelli and bounty hunter Ranger), reconnects with Diesel, a third heartthrob. Diesel offers Stephanie a deal: if he lets her find Annie Hart, a relationship coach who's become a big-ticket bond on Stephanie's Most Wanted List after fleeing a charge for a robbery she didn't commit, then Stephanie can do Annie a big favor by playing Cupid for a number of Annie's lovelorn clients, including a shy butcher, a desperate vet, an overworked single mom, a 30-something virgin and the marriage-phobic fellow who just happens to be Stephanie's pregnant sister's boyfriend. Diesel and Stephanie's short but sweet adventure ends on a teasing note that will leave fans hungry for the next juicy Plum-a-thon. (Jan.)
My review: As always this book was really funny. The story line did not have as many twists and turns as a number book in this series.. But it was definately a good fun quick read! I was cracking up as some of the things were happening.. At least Stephanie kept her car through the whole book :-P

Rekindling the Romance

Author: Dennis & Barbara Rainey
ISBN: 9780785200017
Pages: 152 (for the woman's section)

One word summary: Good

I won this book through a blog activity for the month of February. So I figured I would read it for the Spring Reading Thing 2008.

Description from Barnes and Noble:
Deep within every marriage is a God-given desire for intimacy. By God's design, romance is supposed to be the flame in the fireplace. It includes warmth, security, and, of course, sexual intimacy.
Yet far too many Christian couples feel cheated because their marriage produces about as much spark as a book of wet matches. For them the kids, the long hours at the office, the bills, health issues, and even feelings of guilt leave them drained. Others have neglected to fan the flames of passion for so long that they have lost hope of experiencing romance. Their relationship has become as routine as it is lifeless. Some are so puzzled by the whole affair they have come to the wrong conclusion that God has withheld something good from them. In short, romance in marriage can be a challenge and a mystery.
My review: This book was good, Tim enjoyed his section out of it as well. The only complaint we had with this book is that it tended to be about stereotypical males and females. Since Tim and I are not very stereotypical (ex. I like to watch sports, he watches them because I do, he likes to watch all kinds of movies not just action packed car chase movies, etc.) However, if you took the general ideas from the book you can adapt them to your situation. I would recommend the book to a couple who is trying to make their relationship a priority.
