Reasons why Sammy is definitely Tim's son

Sammy looks a lot like me as a toddler. However, there are most certainly tons of reasons that he is Tim's son (aside from the obvious one ;-) hehe). So I thought I would share a few with you:

1. How he automatically close when trying to take a picture of him

2. Love for reading at an early age (I hated to read until fairly recently).

3. The food he thinks is yummy

4. His musical ability

5. His dancing skills

That is exactly how Tim dances as an adult ;-)

What's on Your Nightstand - July 2008

What's On Your Nightstand
5 minutes for books is hosting a carnival of books on your nightstand. You can check out the carnival by clicking on the button above.

I wanted to share what I am currently reading through now. I am reading two books right now a fiction book and a non-fiction book.

I am about half way through with Gone with the Wind. I picked this book because my mom and my sister said it was the best book they had ever read. I am loving the book and cant seem to put it down. However, I must also get some sleep and take care of Sammy so somehow I manage to put it back on the nightstand every night.

When I am finished reading it my mom said that we can have a Gone with the Wind movie watching session (I haven't watched the movie either.. I know some of you are in shock right now).

Then the non-fiction book that I am reading is Bringing up Boys by Dr. Dobson. Tim and I are reading through this book out loud and have been really enjoying it.

This book has given us tons of insight into why boys do what they do. Also about some of the things boys have to deal with through out their life.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is "bringing up boys" and would like a little help understanding why they do what they do. I have found this book really helpful even with Sammy only being 15 months old.

You can check out what is on other people's nightstands here.

I 3> MomAgenda

I am a scheduled kind of person. I need lists, order, things written down on paper. I like to look at the month ahead of time and see whats coming up.

That said awhile back I won this planner from Rocks in My Dryer giveaway. I have been waiting patiently (okay maybe patiently wasn't the best word to describe how I was waiting) to start using it.

The calendar runs from August 2008 to December of 2009. So since August is just around the corner I have been happily filling in my new calendar and can I just say that I love this calendar. It has a section for up to 4 people at the bottom so you can keep track of your kids events or husbands appointments.

I really love the layout of this calendar and all of the space it provides. Including the dinner plan at the bottom of the day.

mish mash

Sammy is growing up so fast, he started doing so many fun things lately. He started stacking blocks on top of each other, building a tower w/ mega blocks, and running faster.

Sammy also has been reading books for a while and I finally got a good video of him reading one to me.

My sister gave me this bloggy award! How fun is that. I love the blogging community and all of the fun events that are hosted through out blogville.

I leave you with a picture of the cheese!

Blackwell company picnic

Sammy playing in the inner tube (old school actual tire one)

A few Fridays ago Tim's company had a picnic at the quarry. There was tons of food, lots of people, and tons of fun!
Sammy getting his feet wet

Sammy had a blast playing in the quarry. We didn't plan on him swimming so we didn't bring a swimsuit or swim diaper for him. But he had a blast none the less.

Sammy wore his outfit that GrandPat and GiGi brought back from Hawaii

Sammy and the Dogs

Sammy loves dogs.. ours, Tim's parents, my parents, my sisters, you get the idea. Dog was one of the first words that Sammy learned. He is in the process of learning how to let Snickers (our puppy) out of his crate when we get home from somewhere.

Sammy pets the dogs, throws the balls for the dogs, and chases them. So I thought I would share a few pictures of Sammy with the dogs.

4th of July

Sammy swinging at the lake

We had a great 4th of July with friends and family. We went to my parents house to spend the 4th and 5th with them at the lake. We went swimming and had a cookout. Tim, Sammy and I spent the night at my sister's house and we watched a movie while the boys slept. The 5th we had a great time hanging out with my sister's family before heading back to our house. Here are a few pictures from this weekend:
