Cold Weather Play Ideas?

I have been trying to brainstorm some cold weather play ideas because our house is not huge. Don't get me wrong I love my house and its perfect for us right now. However, Sammy is very active and we both get a little stir crazy when we are in the house all day long.

So far this hasnt been a problem since we have tons of space to play outside. However, its starting to get colder and I know eventually we will be stuck inside. So if you know of any good inside activities for 18 month to 23 month old toddlers please leave me a comment. If you happen to live near me and know some great inside activities in the area PLEASE let me know. Just this morning Sammy has climbed onto the following several times: side tables, kitchen chairs, bookshelf, sofa, recliner, stool, and stood on his tiny piano bench. I think I need to look for a toddler gym :-P

Pumpkin Patch

This weekend we went to the 'pumpkin patch' and corn maze this weekend. My sister and her family meet us there. The actual pumpkin patch was tiny but all of the other attractions were so much fun for the boys.

It was pretty cold.. colder than I thought it was going to be. I had brought Sammy's costume along for some fun pictures. It turned into some extra warmth for him. Check him out he is a herding dog.. I found this costume on ebay because all the other dogs costumes I had seen did not look like our dogs. Cousin Bradly had fun bowling with the soccer balls:

The boys had fun playing in the big sandbox with all of the digging toys and trucks:

They had a huge slide that dropped 20 feet. You rode on a burlap sack and Tim said that it went very fast.

There was a hay bale maze for the toddlers to work their way through. The boys had a blast playing in the plastic tunnels:

We got to pet goats and bunnies or as Sammy called them dog dogs!

We road a carousel.. I think it was the world's longest carousel ride.

They also had these carts that were hooked up to a 4 wheeler and took you for a little ride. I had some better pictures of this.. but I had to share this one:

Do you see my sister? Can you tell that we both blog ;-) hehe!

Carters Mountain

The family and the apple :-)

The VIEW!!

A few weekends ago Tim, Sammy and I met my parents at Carter's Mountain Apple Orchard to pick apples. We also tasted the donuts and played in some pumpkins they had out.
His favorite one was the pumpkin without the top

There was live music and Sammy had a blast dancing to that with his apple. He would bite the apple and suck the juice out of it. Towards the end of the day he was biting peices off of the apple and eating them. His favorite fruit use to be a banana but I think its apples now.

The Smile Award

My friend Kellie over at La Vida Dulce gave me this really cool smile award:

I think one of the really cool things about blogging and the blogging community is the friends that you make. Since most of the time you wont necessarily meet the people that you are friends with bloggy awards is the way to show someone you care. I have been reading Kellie's blog for a while now. She just made a cross country move and started homeschooling. I love reading the stories of her transitions on all of these new adventures. Thanks for passing this award on to me :-) Okay here are the rules of the award:

No Title really fits

I have been trying to write this post for a while. I have been trying to think of the point of the post. I have been trying to get out of this funk. I havent ever really posted about being down or having a bad day. Not because I don't have them but because I try and be a positive person. I try to see the silver lining. However, lately I cant see that lining. I have just been in a funk. I wont go as far as to say I am depressed or anything along those lines but I feel stagnant. I have tried to fix this.. But I think I have finally come to realize that is the whole issue. What's that you say? It is just one letter.. it is I.. I have tried, I try, I.... So I am going to pray about it.. I am going to trust in the Lord:

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;"
Psalm 3:5

I do not understand why he has me in this emotional place and I am going to try and stop understanding and just trust. Dont worry to much.. I know that it to will pass.. but I needed to get it off my chest.. Thanks for listening:-)

And just so this post isn't a complete downer.. here are some pictures :-)

Gooooo SKINS!!

We had a great weekend but I will post about that later (once I upload the pictures I want to share :-)).

Let me first state that I have been a Redskins fan since I was born. My sister sold girl scout cookies to some of the players that lived in our neighborhood. I was a little young to be a girl scout but I helped deliver the cookies and got to meet some of the great Skins players like Art Monk and Darrell Green. My love for the skins has not faltered in their seasons of less then optimal performance.

I was at the skins game when they played the "Cowgirls" at home and beat them with no time left on the clock. I was pregnant with Sammy at the time. So he has been a skins fan since before he was born.

He now loves to watch the game on TV and claps when Tim and I cheer. He likes to sit on the sofa and watch the game.
He has been working on his tackle ;-)Sometimes he takes a break fromt he game and plays w/ his puppies :-)So I think we have effectively made him into a skins fan!
