Bug Camp

Sammy had a total blast at bug camp at the Children’s museum last week.  I had hoped to get a picture of all of the super super cute crafts they made through out the week.  Unfortunately I did not get a too before they were thrown away.  Almost all of the crafts were interactive and Sammy loved them so much that they fell apart before we got pictures!  I did get a few from the first day though!
Excuse the terrible picture of Sammy and check out the lady bug drawing he made:
They brought their bug journal each day.  They were suppose to try and find a bug and draw a picture of it each day.  Sammy had his pretty full by the end of the week.  He loved getting to take it in and show his teacher.
Sammy learned about a lot of different bugs.  I am still hearing about things he learned at his week at camp.  He learned about lady bugs, beetles, lightning bugs, crickets, grasshoppers, flies, and many more.
They made a cute beetle out of a close pin (the kind with the spring) and poster board.  Then you can push on the beetle jump up.  A HUGE butterfly out of a gigantic coffee filter and pipe cleaners.  They also made a cute caterpillar out of an egg carton.
Sammy certainly had a lot of fun and we will be doing another camp at the children’s museum again next summer!
