Apple Picking–Picture Overload!!

I almost forgot to share about our trip to the apple orchard.  It is a small orchard about 30 minutes from our house and I loved it.  It wasn’t as commercialized as some of them are and there were lots of apples to be picked.  The trees were bending over from the weight of the apples!

Nicia stole my camera and proceed to take several hundred pictures.  We attempted to make some of them as goofy as possible! I think I succeeded in this one:

Sammy loved being able to reach the apples this year.  He left his coat in the car so he kept warm with hugs and Tim’s coat!

Like I said we had fun taking weird pictures!

We did smile for a few though:

Sweet sisters-in-law:

I love the fall!

We picked a few apples…

Rachel and Nicia (out from behind the camera):

We went apple picking pretty late in the year and there were lots of pumpkins available as well!

Silly smirk:

Posing like the sign.. or praying either one.. adorable:

Yummy nachos:

My Top 5 Masterbooks Resources

Since I have been reviewing with Moms of Masterbooks I have received some really great resources!  I wanted to share my top 5 Masterbooks resources with you guys.  Some of them I have reviewed (they are linked if I did) others are resources I have purchased on my own because I love them (those are linked to Masterbooks’ website)!

1. The Stargazer’s Guide to the Night Sky -  I bought this book after hearing Jason Lisle speak at the HEAV convention 2 years ago.  I was totally impressed with his talk and have loved this resource so much!

2. N is for Noah – I love this book and so did Sammy.  We have also used the A is for Adam and D is for Dinosaur books.  These are a great preschool – early elementary resource!

3. Children’s Atlas of God’s World – We have been using this along with Little Passports to study geography this year and have loved reading about the different countries.

4. Dinosaur Activity Book –  This is a wonderful book full of dinosaur activity pages.  There are puzzles, mazes, coloring and much more.  The best part is that all of the pages are creation based so you don’t have to worry about facts that are on the pages!

5. The Answer Book for Kids – We have volumes 5&6 but any of them are wonderful resources!  I hope to add a few to our  library eventually!

Do you have any Masterbooks resources that you love?  Any you have your eye on for next year?  Masterbooks is having a  sale right now on some wonderful resources some of them might be on your wish list.

November Photo Dump

2013-11-01 07.11.04

Sweet little boy smiles make me happy!  Considering he was in the hospital less than the week before this picture I was quite happy to see a big grin across his face!

2013-11-01 13.30.47

Sammy finished up his nasty tasting but super helpful medicine!! We celebrated by going to the gym and swimming in the pool!

2013-11-01 18.20.34

Sammy and Tim built a ninja fort in the backyard with some branches and a tarp!  The branches are still out there now!

2013-11-03 12.59.06

We were packing for our trip to Atlanta and Peach wanted to go with us!!

2013-11-03 18.58.20

For Tim’s sister’s birthday we did a cool fall night fire pit!  It was a lot of fun and a great way to celebrate with family!

2013-11-04 17.43.59

When we were in Atlanta we helped Tim’s sister cut up some old carpet.  This was our work from the first night!

2013-11-04 18.09.51

Sammy was in kitty heaven at his Aunt Becca’s house.  She does rescue work in Atlanta and had a room full of kitties and one cat while we were there!

2013-11-05 08.05.18

Sammy was also quite smitten with this rescue dog!  While we ere there he was placed in his forever home.  Sammy balled but was glad he had a home!

Not the greatest picture but Sammy was super into the bubble bath in the big tub!  I think that might be his first bubble bath ever.  He didn’t like them as a kid and his eczema would flare up if he was in the tub too long!

2013-11-06 19.15.42

We found this game at a thrift store and have had fun playing it!

2013-11-06 21.53.21

I love getting to see my sweet boy sleep.  When we were in Atlanta he was in the same room as us so I got to see him curled up every night!

2013-11-07 21.25.46

Tim and I went to The Cheesecake Factory while we were in Atlanta and it was really fun and tasty! Thanks for babysitting Becca!

2013-11-08 15.59.20

Sammy thought it would be fun to use the doggy door!  The dogs didn’t know what to think about that!

Kitty love!!

2013-11-14 13.19.50

I can’t see how that can be comfortable.. but Peach is always laying around in the most awkward positions!

2013-11-16 13.26.21

Sammy had fun trying on the silly Santa hats at the hardware store!

2013-11-19 08.32.26

Can we say OCD… wonder where he gets that from!  *cough cough*

2013-11-19 09.58.03

We learned about electrical circuits in science and made a circuit with a light bulb and a 9v battery.  Sammy really enjoyed this activity!

2013-11-23 11.14.45

Sammy asked for my notebook while grocery shopping at Costco.  He then wrote out math problems for himself to work on!  This made me so happy! I use to do this all the time as a child!

2013-11-23 17.29.28

Peach the littlest reindeer! I got pictures of the other dogs but they didn’t turn out to well!

2013-11-24 09.34.36

Eating plain celery for breakfast on the new couch is a normal Sammy happing at our house!

2013-11-26 17.31.48

Tim needed to get some lights down off the rafters at our old church building (another church rents it from us) and he was scaring me so bad up on that ladder.

2013-11-28 10.01.25

My college was the opening marching band in the Macy’s Day Parade.  I took a picture of them!

2013-11-28 14.32.46

Our thanksgiving day spread for just the three of us.  We ate our “formal” dinner in our pajamas!  We had Tim’s family over the next night for a leftover buffet!
